Freight Management Startup Zeus Secures £1.8M in Angel Funding for European Expansion and Sustainability Solutions

London-based startup Zeus has secured £1.8m in funding from angel investors to expand its freight management software business across Europe. Zeus’ software platform provides fleet management tools, access to large goods vehicles, and the ability to offset carbon emissions during deliveries. The startup currently manages over 660,000 tonnes of cargo worth approximately £6bn annually and counts more than 40 enterprise-level companies among its customers.

Zeus, the London-based startup specializing in freight management software, has raised £1.8m in funding from a group of angel investors. The funding will be used to support the company’s expansion into Europe and the development of new software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions. The startup’s co-founder and joint-managing director, Clemente Theotokis, stated that the investment would enable the company to accelerate the path to sustainable freight and digitize clients’ supply chains.

The angel investors who contributed to the Zeus funding round included Sahel Al-Majali, former transport minister of Jordan, Marl Capital founder Robin Ladow, and CEO of Egyptian Steel, Ahmed Abou Hashima, among others. The company’s co-founder and joint-managing director, Jai Kanwar, said that these investors offer great strategic value to the fast-growing startup as successful business leaders and savvy financiers. Since its founding in 2019 and launch in August 2020, Zeus has raised a total of £4.3m in capital.

Zeus is not the only UK-based startup focused on modernizing the trucking industry with new solutions. Tevva, a technology company that is building hydrogen-electric trucks, is also exploring ways to innovate the freight sector. However, Zeus’ focus is on providing businesses with access to large goods vehicles, fleet management tools, and carbon offsetting options.

Zeus’ £1.8m funding round will enable the startup to expand its freight management software business across Europe, develop new SaaS solutions, and digitize its clients’ supply chains. With the support of angel investors, including former transport minister of Jordan Sahel Al-Majali, Marl Capital founder Robin Ladow, and CEO of Egyptian Steel Ahmed Abou Hashima, among others, Zeus is well-positioned to accelerate the path to sustainable freight and continue to grow its customer base among enterprise-level companies.
