Ep. 158: Trump and Rudy Show

This episode is modelled after the traditional, popular, and usually violent British puppet show featuring Pulcinella (Mr. Punch) and his wife Judy. The performance consists of a sequence of short scenes, each depicting an interaction between Mr. Punch and one other character who falls victim to Punch’s club. The parallels here are amazing as Trump has been clubbed repeatedly this week by his new lead attorney, former New York mayor, Mr. noun verb and 9-11 in every sentence… Rudy Giuliani. The world watched in horror as he was the one who brought the club to every interaction and seemed to bring even more jeopardy to Trump’s legal defence than was thought possible.

Here in the UK local elections happened and produced and even more confused outcome than was thought possible. Labout needed to crush the Tories. They didn’t. The Tories needed to make a spirited stand and hold seats. They didn’t. UKIP needed to show relevance. They didn’t. And the Lib Dems needed to make everyone forget their alliance with the Tories in 2010 and show they were relevant and ready to lead. They didn’t. Now whilst they made a few gains, they always gain in local elections and those are not indicative of the future Parliamentary tussles because…. only 34% bothered to vote.
