If Anger is the New Black? I’m Mad as Hell!

Republicans, congratulations. You won by lying your way back into House control with gazillions in soft money three hours ago. You now own the economy, unemployment, two wars, banking regulation and you want to repeal healthcare and financial reform while your leader says he is going to “roll up his sleeves & do the people’s work” after having served in Congress for 19-years. What was he doing beforehand? And how is he going to control the Tea Party wing?

This night the opera’s Fat Lady sang for the Republicans, then she slipped and fell in the bath-tub. The resultant wave wiped out good Dems of conscience. Just remember Mr. Speaker, the wave will hit the side wall of the tub sooner than you think and come back with equal fury!

The day after President Obama’s election he owned the Bush economy, bank failures and two wars. Now it’s on you and the clock is ticking. If MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann won’t change Countdown’s ending, we’ll add our clock here, 1st hourly than day-by-day marking your progress towards doing something other than saying HELL NO! Each day we will mark the passage of time by asking:

Mr. Speaker Boehner, where are the jobs?

The USA is a racist, xenophobic, homophobic sloganeering attention-deficit addled nation that is led by people winning through deceit by appealing to the illiterate, uneducated masses through fear. The very water these Astroturf corporate grass-roots Tea Party leaders have you carrying for them will turn around and justifiably drown you.

There is no middle ground and the key to this election was watching lunatics on every channel talking about issues in sound bytes and not understanding a single bit of the issue. Most just grabbed a spoon-fed position then spent weeks if not months with fingers in their ears smugly singing “la-la-laaaa, I’m not listening to you!”

You do not deserve a thoughtful policy focused leader like Barack Obama trying to tackle the big issues. He sacrificed (as did Johnson and FDR before him) short term political gain for fixing real problems and this is his reward?

Mr. Speaker Boehner dry those tears, it’s been 5 hours now since your party won control, where are the jobs?

(This is going to be fun.)

  1. So Denis, this flowed right from the heart, I guess.
Very clear indeed, no question about how your thoughts are about this topic.
Good post. You’ve taken a stand here. I like that.

Whenever the economy improved under republicans, it was done by “borrow and spend”. What will they do now? From what I’ve heard, their only idea’s are tax breaks to the rich and corporate deregulation. Great article Dennis.
